What to see and do
Millennium City Park
A 5A site that recreates Northern Song Tokyo at 1:1 from the painting. The site names individual set pieces: Rainbow Bridge, Fuyun Pavilion, Shangshan Gate, Shuixin Isle and more.
Tip The night programme starts 17:30; the main show, Dreams of Dongjing, plays on Jinglong Lake and its times are set by the park on the day.

Dragon Pavilion and the Iron Pagoda
The palace precinct and a surviving brick pagoda of the Northern Song — the half of Kaifeng's history that is not the park.
Tip The Iron Pagoda is among the earliest tall glazed pagodas still standing; it and the Dragon Pavilion make a sensible half-day on foot.

Kaifeng Prefecture yamen
A rebuilt Northern Song government compound with courtroom, performance and folk-craft scenes — it makes the difference between Song officialdom and Song street life concrete.
Tip It sits in a different district from Millennium City Park; put them on different half-days.

Dongjing Food Street
The park's food quarter, listed on its own site: soup dumplings, baked noodles with fish, cold noodles, wontons, lamb baked flatbread, oil tea, bean milk, peppery soup and almond tea.
Tip The site also notes that Sunyang Zhengdian, one of the Song dynasty's 72 official restaurants, has been recreated and seats over 500.
