Humble Administrator's Garden & Lion Grove
The first of China's four great gardens uses borrowed scenery and framed views to make five hectares feel endless; Lion Grove's rock maze can absorb half an hour.
Tip In high season book real-name tickets for the 07:30 opening — fewer people, softer light. The two gardens are a kilometre apart.

Pingjiang Road & Shantang Street
Song-dynasty canal lanes survive intact: white walls, dark tiles, arched bridges, with teahouses, bookshops and pingtan halls still trading.
Tip Go at dawn when Pingjiang Road is nearly empty — the only way to photograph it without crowds; Shantang is better after dark for lanterns.

Suzhou Museum & Tiger Hill
I. M. Pei's museum turns white walls and grey tiles into modern geometry, while Tiger Hill's leaning Yunyan Pagoda has been off-vertical for a thousand years.
Tip The museum is free but reserved ahead and holiday slots vanish instantly; Tiger Hill is further out, give it half a day.
